What is a writ petition in Nepal?

Writ & Administrative Law

A writ petition is an application asking the Supreme Court or High Court to exercise extraordinary constitutional jurisdiction to protect a fundamental or legal right, control unlawful public action, or resolve a constitutional or public-law issue.

A writ is not simply another appeal. The petitioner must show why extraordinary judicial intervention is justified.
