Can a company own land in Nepal?

Property & Land Law

A legally established company can own immovable property where the acquisition is lawful and consistent with applicable company, land, investment and sector-specific laws.

Before purchasing, the company should ensure:

  • the acquisition is within its lawful authority;
  • the board/company approvals are proper;
  • the signing person has authority;
  • foreign-investment restrictions are considered where relevant;
  • land-use restrictions are checked.
