Can an employer terminate an employee without a reason?

Generally, no. Section 139 states that employment cannot be terminated except in accordance with the Labour Act, Rules or employment regulations and requires a proper and sufficient reason for termination.

The lawful ground and procedure depend on why employment is ending.
