Which court handles divorce and major family-law disputes?

Family Law

The National Civil Code expressly directs divorce applications to the concerned District Court. The Civil Procedure Code also treats relationship establishment, divorce, partition, succession, guardianship and adoption-related matters as civil matters, subject to the applicable jurisdictional rules.

Some registration and administrative family matters are handled first by designated public authorities rather than through an ordinary lawsuit.
