What documents should I prepare for a divorce case?

Family Law

Documents depend on the issues in dispute, but commonly useful records include:

  • citizenship/identity documents;
  • marriage registration or evidence of marriage;
  • children's birth records;
  • property ownership documents;
  • income and financial records;
  • evidence supporting the alleged divorce ground;
  • prior agreements;
  • relevant police, medical or court records where applicable.

For property claims, a complete family-property history is often more useful than only the spouse's latest land certificate.
