Can a child custody arrangement be changed later?

Family Law

A custody arrangement is not best understood as an irreversible property right. Material changes involving the child's safety, welfare, parental circumstances or an existing agreement/order can justify seeking a revised arrangement.

The correct procedure depends on whether the existing arrangement arose from agreement or court order.
