Can a regulator freeze a cooperative's transactions or bank account?

Yes, in circumstances provided by the Cooperative Act. Section 126 allows the Registrar or authorized officer, in addition to specified penalties, to suspend cooperative transactions, assets or bank accounts for up to three months and recommend asset restrictions to relevant bodies.
