Can a cooperative remove a member?

Cooperative Law

Yes, but membership cannot be terminated arbitrarily. Section 34 identifies grounds such as voluntary resignation, repeated absence from annual general meetings without notice, repeated violation of legal/bylaw duties, or loss of eligibility.

A member with outstanding debts, liabilities, guarantees or unsettled financial obligations generally cannot simply end membership until those obligations are settled.
