Nepal's Electronic Transactions Act, 2063 gives legal recognition to electronic records and to digital signatures that satisfy the Act and applicable rules. It also recognizes compliant electronic retention of records.[4]
Important distinction
An ordinary typed name, scanned signature, click acceptance and a statutory “digital signature” are not necessarily identical concepts. Whether a particular electronic method satisfies a signature or formality requirement depends on the transaction and applicable law.
